Role Overview
The Customer Services Clerk will serve as a critical link between the operations and customer base, ensuring smooth shipment delivery, issue resolution, and proactive communication. You will be expected to handle client queries, monitor orders, and coordinate transport updates while maintaining accurate records and supporting the logistics team’s objectives.
Working hours are from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 5 pm, with the expectation of flexibility during peak periods. This position reports directly to the Transport Manager and plays an important role in client retention and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and track shipping routes to ensure timely and accurate delivery

Respond to customer inquiries, complaints, and requests with urgency

Coordinate with transport teams to arrange same-day or priority deliveries

Keep detailed logs of shipments, backorders, and client communication

Supply order and backorder status reports to customers regularly

Prepare and share invoices with customers in advance of deliveries

Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to ensure logistics efficiency

Conduct weekly meetings with the sales team to align on customer priorities

Resolve all transport and service issues quickly and professionally

Maintain freight system data and provide updates to senior management

Work across WinFreight or other freight management platforms
Minimum Requirements
-
Matric (Grade 12) – essential
-
2–3 years’ experience in customer service or logistics administration

Must have experience working with freight or shipment tracking systems

Experience in WinFreight is advantageous (training will be provided)

Strong knowledge of road freight, transport, or shipping environments

Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Afrikaans

Strong planning, time management, and coordination skills

Must be able to work independently and manage multiple priorities

High level of competency in MS Excel and other MS Office packages

Valid driver’s licence (no endorsements)

Own reliable transport is required

Remuneration and Benefits
