Role Overview
Sanlam is looking for an ambitious, self-motivated Financial Adviser to provide professional financial advice, products, and services to new and existing clients. This role focuses on generating sustainable, high-quality business while fostering long-term client relationships that drive brand loyalty and continued sales success.
You will work within a compliant and ethical environment, ensuring that all client engagements meet the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development and Growth
Execute targeted marketing plans to develop and grow your adviser business
Apply market segmentation and customer profiling to identify new business opportunities
Meet and exceed revenue generation targets including single and recurring premiums
Consistently promote the Sanlam brand within the defined market
Networking and Lead Generation
Engage in face-to-face networking opportunities to generate business leads
Leverage social and business networks to prospect for new clients
Strengthen existing relationships to increase client service and satisfaction
Utilise Sanlam’s internal resources and cross-selling opportunities to grow your client base
Identify market gaps and implement focused campaigns for client acquisition
Client Consultations and Financial Planning
Conduct comprehensive fact-finding and financial needs analyses for each client
Provide tailored, sound financial planning advice aligned with client requirements
Present Sanlam’s financial solutions in a professional and competent manner
Ensure all client engagements are compliant with regulatory and ethical standards
Review and update client portfolios on an annual basis
Client Relationship Management
Deliver exceptional, courteous, and professional service to all clients
Resolve business queries promptly and effectively
Foster long-term client relationships to build trust and loyalty
Stay updated on financial products, industry trends, and market changes to better serve clients
Reporting and Compliance
Maintain accurate records of client interactions and sales activities
Monitor progress against targets and present weekly and monthly reports
Ensure all compliance requirements, disclosures, and documentation are met
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
Regulatory Examination and FAIS Fit and Proper status required if registered with FSCA for over 24 months
Strong understanding of financial advisory, compliance, and risk management principles
Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships
Preferred Skills and Attributes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Tech-savvy and comfortable using digital tools for client engagement
Action-oriented with a persuasive, results-driven approach
Strong planning and organisational abilities
High levels of resilience and ability to drive results under pressure
