Role Overview
Premier FMCG is looking for a detail-oriented and hardworking General Worker Picker to join the team at the Meadowview Depot in Lords View, Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately picking products according to picking slips, staging them in the checking area, and ensuring they are sealed or wrapped once verified. This role is crucial to ensuring that products reach customers on time and in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities
Safe Working Practices
Adhere to all health and safety guidelines within the warehouse environment
Ensure personal safety and the safety of others by following proper procedures
Accurate Product Picking
Correctly pick products as specified on picking slips
Stage picked products in the checking lane for quality control
Seal or wrap products after they have been checked to ensure secure transportation
Housekeeping
Maintain a clean and organised working area
Ensure that stock is neatly arranged and aisles are free from obstacles
Standard Operating Procedures
Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse operations
Ensure compliance with company processes and quality standards
Qualification Requirements
Matric Certificate or Grade 12 qualification is required
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment
Key Skills and Attributes
Ability to function effectively in a team environment
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work accurately and under pressure
Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability
Equipment knowledge relevant to warehouse operations
Excellent attention to detail to ensure product accuracy
Numerical ability for handling orders and stock
Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
Respectful and professional attitude
Strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines
Other Requirements
The role is target-driven and requires the ability to work in a high-pressure environment
Availability to work Saturdays, Sundays, and Public Holidays as required by the business
