We are a fast-growing retail business seeking an experienced Learning and Development (L&D) Officer to coordinate, facilitate, and manage all learning initiatives. Role Overview
The Learning and Development Officer will oversee the smooth delivery of internal and external training programmes, ensure statutory training compliance, and promote a culture of learning. This includes managing relationships with training providers, tracking employee progress, and maintaining accurate training records.

Key Responsibilities
Training Programme Coordination

Plan, coordinate, and manage both internal and external training programmes.

Oversee SETA programmes, statutory training, leadership development, and integration training.

Facilitate internal training sessions as required, ensuring up-to-date and effective learning materials.

Manage relationships with external training providers to ensure high-quality delivery of learning programmes.
Monitoring and Reporting

Track progress of all L&D programmes, reporting on attendance, completion rates, and training outcomes.

Gather feedback on training effectiveness and recommend improvements.

Ensure accuracy across all L&D reporting platforms, including Learning Cloud and shared systems.
L&D Administration

Maintain accurate records of all training activities, including attendance registers and certifications.

File and update learning materials such as SOPs, guides, and manuals on relevant platforms.

Support the migration of SOP training from the HR Public Drive to private training platforms.
Data Management and Compliance

Maintain precise employee training records, completion statuses, and assessment outcomes.

Use data insights to identify training gaps and propose strategic solutions.

Ensure full compliance with all statutory training requirements, including SETA obligations.
Support and Communication

Serve as the key contact for L&D-related queries from employees and management.

Communicate upcoming training sessions, program details, and changes to all stakeholders.

Travel to external training sites, other stores, and locations within Johannesburg as required.
Minimum Requirements
-
Senior Certificate (Matric) essential.

Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management advantageous.

SDF Certification (Skills Development Facilitator) – Mandatory.

Train-the-Trainer Certification advantageous.

Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Learning and Development, with proven success in internal and external training delivery.

Retail industry experience beneficial but not essential.

Proficient in Learning Management Systems (LMS), digital learning platforms, and data management tools.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential for reporting and data accuracy.
