Role Overview
The Engineering division at RCL FOODS is on the hunt for a dedicated and detail-oriented Technical Clerk to join the team in Nelspruit. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting maintenance planning, technical data management, and ensuring that all maintenance activities meet professional standards.
This position is ideal for individuals with solid maintenance experience, strong technical knowledge, and excellent organizational skills, especially within a fast-paced FMCG environment.
Key Responsibilities

Manage maintenance planning activities according to professional standards to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.

Ensure best practices in planning are implemented to optimize maintenance operations.

Develop and maintain a proper maintenance strategy and preventive maintenance schedule for all plant sections.

Estimate time requirements for planned maintenance tasks accurately.

Oversee stores management practices to ensure reliable storage of parts and equipment.

Maintain and implement planning boards to manage workflows effectively.

Ensure all required documentation for maintenance work is available and up to date.

Review and improve planning, scheduling, data management, and job reporting systems continuously.

Draft applicable maintenance procedures to promote high-quality, defect-free maintenance work.

Integrate maintenance work into the production plan to minimize disruption.

Capture and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to equipment reliability, maintenance performance, and planning processes.

Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance history and work order databases.

Ensure the technical information on plant equipment is up to date and accurately maintained.
Qualifications and Experience

Grade 12 / Matric qualification is essential.

Minimum of 2 years’ maintenance experience, preferably within an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment.

Valid Code 10 driver’s license.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements

Sound understanding of plant processes, equipment, and spare parts management.

Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Experience with ERP/EAMS systems (On-Key, SAP, Oracle, Syspro, or similar).

Ability to plan and schedule maintenance-related activities effectively.

Strong knowledge of equipment reliability and performance monitoring.

Ability to compile, interpret, and present report graphs.
