We are currently looking for a dedicated Technical Clerk to join our Engineering Department in Nelspruit. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about technical processes, planning, and operational efficiency.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the engineering team through maintenance planning, technical administration, and ensuring that all processes, equipment data, and maintenance activities run efficiently to support plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance planning activities following industry best practices

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies

• Schedule maintenance activities in alignment with production plans

• Maintain accurate technical documentation and maintenance history records

• Apply sound store management practices to ensure reliable spare parts availability

• Generate maintenance reports and interpret technical data graphs

• Utilize ERP or maintenance systems such as SAP, Syspro, On-key, or Oracle

• Write and maintain maintenance procedures that ensure high-quality, defect-free work

• Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to equipment reliability and maintenance performance

• Collaborate closely with production teams to ensure operational excellence

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Grade 12 (Matric)

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Maintenance environment, preferably within the FMCG sector

• Code 10 Driver’s License

• Computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel

• Practical experience with ERP/EAMS platforms such as SAP, Syspro, Oracle, or On-key

• Strong technical understanding of plant equipment, processes, and spare parts

Skills and Competencies

• Exceptional planning and scheduling abilities

• Strong understanding of maintenance strategies and equipment reliability

• Excellent technical report writing and data interpretation skills

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

• Proactive problem-solving mindset
