We are seeking a proactive and experienced Team Leader to join our Groceries Business Unit, based at our Randfontein site. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring seamless inward handling of raw materials, maintaining site hygiene, and managing daily logistics operations.

Role Overview

The Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing the raw material intake process, supervising teams handling loading and offloading operations, and ensuring daily site cleanliness and compliance with safety standards. You will work closely with plant managers, raw material coordinators, and warehouse teams to maintain an efficient and hygienic environment essential for production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure fast, safe offloading of raw materials, minimizing truck idling

  • Inspect raw material trucks daily to determine production requirements

  • Maintain hygienic and safe storage of raw materials at intake and warehouse areas

  • Collaborate with plant management to coordinate raw material movements onsite

  • Manage internal stock movements efficiently and on time

  • Supervise the loading/offloading team, ensuring adherence to company policies

  • Assist with raw material sampling and stock-taking processes

  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure operational readiness

  • Ensure all waste products and by-products are removed and managed properly

  • Maintain high housekeeping standards across the site, including waste storage areas

  • Liaise with laboratory teams to ensure vehicles are sampled and approved before intake

  • Provide support to raw material coordinators for leave planning and overtime management

  • Ensure safe re-loading of rejected raw materials

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Grade 12 (Matric)

  • Proficiency in Syspro, SAP, or MS Office

  • Solid understanding of inward logistics and raw material handling processes

  • Forklift driving experience or valid forklift license is advantageous

  • Prior experience in a supervisory position within a factory, warehouse, or logistics environment is highly beneficial

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Attention to detail with a focus on health, safety, and hygiene standards

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced production environment

  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills

  • Flexibility to work weekends, night shifts, and extended hours as required
