Role Overview
The Handyman plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of Hollywoodbets branches and facilities across the Durban region. You will be responsible for general building upkeep, basic repairs, and ensuring that all properties maintain their excellent appearance and functionality.
This is an ideal position for someone with solid technical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintenance within the casino, entertainment, and gambling industry.
Key Responsibilities
General Maintenance & Repairs

Perform routine maintenance across all branches, including minor electrical, plumbing, painting, and ceiling repairs

Assist with generator maintenance, ensuring tests are conducted and fuel levels are maintained

Attend to small-scale repairs of water leaks, fixtures, and fittings

Maintain all air-conditioning units, extractors, and ensure ventilation systems function properly

Conduct general upkeep of the buildings, grounds, and equipment
Operational Support

Work closely with Branch Managers (BM) and Senior Team Leaders (STL) to perform daily and weekly maintenance checks

Support project managers during minor upgrades, revamps, or new shop fit-outs

Maintain stock of tools and equipment and ensure all are in good working order

Manage relationships with external service providers for air conditioning, cleaning, and equipment servicing
Administrative Duties

Complete basic administrative tasks related to maintenance schedules and service records

Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to health and safety standards

Maintain accurate records of completed tasks and report major repairs or risks to management
Qualifications and Experience Required

General building upkeep experience, including electrical, plumbing, painting, ceilings, and generators

Basic knowledge of air-conditioning maintenance

Hands-on experience with power tools and maintenance equipment

Valid South African driver’s license is essential

Previous experience in building or facilities maintenance within the casino, hospitality, or retail sector is advantageous

Intermediate administrative skills are required
