The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) is a critical regulatory body under the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic) tasked with overseeing the registration and compliance of companies and intellectual property in South Africa. ROLE OVERVIEW
The Graduate Internship Programme for Human Capital (Performance Management) is a 24-month structured work experience programme designed for unemployed graduates interested in human resource management, employee performance systems, and organisational effectiveness. This internship, based at the CIPC Sunnyside Office in Pretoria, offers participants an excellent platform to apply their academic knowledge in a practical, professional environment.
Successful candidates will assist in the administration, coordination, and continuous improvement of CIPC’s performance management processes. The internship will expose graduates to modern HR tools, policies, and performance management best practices in the public sector.
WHAT IS AN INTERNSHIP?
An internship, as defined by the South African Cabinet in 2002, is a public service work experience programme for unemployed graduates. It aims to provide participants with relevant workplace exposure, practical skills, and knowledge that will enhance their future employability.
This CIPC internship programme specifically targets:

Unemployed South African graduates with relevant academic qualifications

Individuals with no prior formal work experience

South African citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 years
-
Graduates who have never participated in any internship programme
Successful candidates will be required to sign a Graduate Internship Programme Agreement and commit to completing the full internship period.
KEY REQUIREMENTS

Qualification: National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Public Management, Human Resource Management with a major in Performance Management, or Business Analysis

A Sage VIP Certificate will be considered advantageous

South African citizenship

Age between 18 and 35 years

No previous formal work experience or internship participation

Interest in employee performance management, organisational development, and HR systems

Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and understanding of HR performance tools will be an advantage
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Qualification and citizenship verification checks will be conducted on successful candidates

Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA)

REMUNERATION
Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of R12,000.00, providing financial support throughout the internship period.
