With a wide range of resort, casino, and dining facilities, Wild Coast Sun is seeking motivated individuals to join its Food and Beverage team in the role of Seasonal Waitron for the peak period from 01 July 2025 to 31 July 2025.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Waitron – Seasonal role presents an ideal opportunity for experienced food and beverage professionals to be part of a high-energy, customer-focused team. The successful candidates will deliver exceptional food and beverage service within the resort’s restaurants, banqueting functions, and casino floor operations.
As a Waitron, you will be responsible for preparing the service area, attending to guest needs, promoting food and beverage offerings, and ensuring the highest standards of service are met consistently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Preparation and Work Area Readiness

Complete mise-en-place, table settings, and other service preparations

Assist with set-up and breakdown of banqueting functions as required

Conduct checks to ensure floor appearance, equipment, and systems are functioning correctly

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of assigned work station

Follow health, safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations at all times

Ensure proper use and storage of operating equipment

Participate in regular stock takes

Identify and report any service area anomalies or issues
Service Delivery and Customer Interaction

Stay updated on food products, menus, and preparation methodologies
-
Execute service tasks in line with established Food & Beverage standard operating procedures

Take guest orders accurately and efficiently
-
Place orders into the system promptly
-
Explain menu items and make knowledgeable recommendations on food and beverage options
-
Liaise respectfully with kitchen staff regarding special requests or dietary requirements
-
Serve food and beverages to guests in accordance with company standards
-
Attend to guest requests in a timely and courteous manner
-
Clear tables after service and ensure the area is clean and presentable

Process billing and cash-ups where applicable

Promote and upsell on relevant food and beverage promotions and specials
Customer Service and Engagement

Provide guests with a warm welcome and friendly service experience

Greet customers upon arrival and departure, ensuring all interactions are respectful and professional

Understand guest preferences and deliver personalised service

Educate customers on Wild Coast Sun facilities, promotions, and events

Handle guest complaints, requests, or suggestions professionally and escalate when necessary
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Grade 12 or equivalent national qualification is essential

Minimum of 2 years’ previous experience as a Waitron/Waiter in a hospitality environment

Sound knowledge of food and beverage product offerings

Understanding of food service, beverage service, and safe handling of operating equipment

Excellent communication and upselling skills

Basic computer literacy an advantage

Ability to follow instructions and perform under pressure

Team cooperation and strong work ethic

Ability to work flexible shifts to meet operational demands

Physically capable of handling equipment and performing food service duties

Willingness to work in designated smoking areas as required by operational needs

Open attitude towards performing similar functions in alternative outlets when necessary
