ROLE OVERVIEW
Voltex (Pty) Ltd is seeking two reliable and hardworking Stores Assistants to join the Cape Town branch. These positions are critical in supporting the smooth operation of the warehouse and ensuring stock control is maintained to the highest standard.
The successful candidates will be responsible for assisting with the receiving, handling, packing, and dispatch of stock, as well as providing excellent customer service when customers collect their orders. These roles require individuals who are organised, attentive to detail, and committed to ensuring warehouse processes run efficiently and safely.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with receiving stock, performing quality checks, and ensuring proper handling and packing

Support the dispatch process by quality checking, handling, and packing outgoing stock

Accurately process internal orders by picking stock based on picking slips

Ensure that the correct items and quantities are pulled and sign off on picking slips and stock bin cards

Transport customer stock and relevant paperwork to the dispatch area

Where applicable, ensure cable cutting is completed accurately and according to customer specifications

Maintain effective stock control, administration, and record-keeping

Attend to walk-in customers collecting stock and ensure their orders are processed efficiently

Assist with loading and offloading stock, ensuring items are placed in correct storage locations

Uphold high standards of housekeeping and maintain a safe, organised work environment

Adhere strictly to security regulations at all times

Perform additional warehouse or store duties as instructed by the Branch or Stores Manager

Assist with stock-taking and inventory counts as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Matric / Equivalent qualification is mandatory

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a stores or warehouse environment is advantageous

Strong product knowledge, particularly related to electrical or industrial products, is beneficial

Understanding of warehouse processes, stock handling, and inventory control

Familiarity with safety standards and correct use of protective clothing

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks such as lifting and moving stock

Good organisational and communication skills

Attention to detail and accuracy in stock handling
