ROLE OVERVIEW
Voltex is seeking a motivated and organised Stores Assistant to join the Bloemfontein branch team. This role is essential in supporting the daily operations of the branch and warehouse by assisting with stock receiving, handling, quality control, and dispatching.
The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining accurate stock levels, efficient order processing, and high standards of housekeeping and safety. This position reports to the Branch Manager and plays a vital role in ensuring smooth warehouse operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with receiving incoming stock, conducting quality checks, handling, and packing

Support the dispatch process by preparing, quality checking, handling, and packing outgoing stock

Process internal orders by accurately pulling stock according to picking slips and signing off on picking slips and stock bin cards

Deliver customer stock and paperwork to the dispatch area for timely processing

Ensure any cable cutting tasks are completed correctly where applicable

Maintain effective stock control and accurate stock administration records

Attend to customers who collect stock or place orders at the branch

Assist with loading and offloading stock, ensuring correct allocation to storage areas

Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety according to company policies

Keep the stores clean, neat, and secure, adhering strictly to security regulations

Perform additional duties as instructed by the Branch or Stores Manager

Assist with stock-taking and inventory counts as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Matric / Grade 12 certificate is mandatory

Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in a stores or warehouse environment is preferred
-
Strong product knowledge, particularly related to electrical or industrial products, is advantageous

Good understanding of warehouse processes and stock control systems

Knowledge of safety standards and proper use of protective clothing and equipment

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks including lifting and moving stock

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in stock handling

Good communication and organisational skills
