Shoe City, a division of Pepkor Speciality, is looking for an experienced and driven Store Planner to join our Planning Department based in Bellville, Cape Town. This role offers the opportunity to play a vital part in optimising our stock distribution processes, ensuring that the right stock reaches the right stores at the right time to maximise sales performance.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 3 years’ experience in store planning within a retail environment

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Statistics, or Cost Management is advantageous

• Strong numerical and analytical skills

• Experience working in retail planning systems such as:

  • Location Planning

  • JDA Allocations

  • Qlikview

• Advanced knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets is essential

• Working knowledge of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, etc.) is advantageous

• Solid understanding of retail merchandise cycles including:

  • Buying

  • Planning

  • Logistics

  • Distribution Centre (DC) operations

  • In-store operations

Key Responsibilities

Optimising Stock Distribution

• Ensure accurate and timeous distribution of seasonal stock to maximise sales potential

• Manage optimal replenishment of seasonal and non-seasonal stock across stores

• Deliver location plans that effectively cluster stores by product level

Store Performance Analysis

• Analyse store performance and provide accurate, timely insights to support strategic decisions

• Support stores in resolving stock-related queries

New Store Planning

• Develop and implement new store plans to ensure optimal stock levels at opening

Continuous Improvement

• Conduct regular store visits to monitor stock performance and address issues

• Deliver replenishment profiles for seasonal and non-seasonal products at the required product level
