At Adendorff Machinery Mart in Strydompark, Johannesburg, we are seeking a Repairs Technician to join our technical team. This permanent position provides an opportunity to work with a diverse product range—from power tools and welding machines to petrol and diesel engines—within South Africa’s leading retail machinery chain.

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-Delivery Inspections & Servicing
• Conduct detailed inspections of incoming stock and returned items to identify defects.
• Perform preventative maintenance and full servicing on:
– Power tools (drills, grinders, saws)
– Welding machines (MIG, TIG, arc)
– Compressors and pneumatic systems
– Small machinery (petrol/diesel engines, generators)
Troubleshooting & Repairs
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults using test equipment, multimeters, and schematics.
• Repair or replace components on PC boards, motors, pumps, and control modules (PC board experience is advantageous).
• Execute welding, fabrication, and component alignment tasks as needed.
Workshop Housekeeping & Inventory Control
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Requisition and manage spares and consumables, ensuring critical base stock is always available.
• Document service histories, job cards, and maintain accurate records for warranty and audit purposes.
Customer Interaction & Technical Support
• Communicate effectively with customers, explaining technical issues and repair options in clear English.
• Provide on-site troubleshooting support when required and liaise with sales teams to coordinate service appointments.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Essential Requirements
• Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• 2–5 years’ hands-on maintenance and repair experience in an FMCG, retail, or industrial environment.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple repair jobs, and meet turnaround targets.
Technical Expertise
• Strong mechanical aptitude: experience with engines, gearboxes, bearings, and drive systems.
• Electrical proficiency: wiring, motor control, PLC fault-finding, and VFD configuration.
• PC board diagnostics and repair is a significant advantage.
• Valid Code B driver’s license for on-site service calls.

WORKING HOURS & REMUNERATION
• Monday–Friday: 08:00–17:00; Saturday: 08:00–13:00
