Key Responsibilities
Pre-Delivery Inspections, Servicing & Repairs
Perform thorough pre-delivery inspections and full servicing of:

Power Tools (cordless drills, saws, grinders)

Welding Machines (MIG, TIG, MMA)

Air Compressors and Pneumatic Tools
-
Small Machinery (petrol/diesel engines, generators)
Troubleshooting & Preventive Maintenance
Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults using schematic diagrams, multimeters, and diagnostic software. Implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
Spare Parts Management & Housekeeping
Requisition and safeguard critical spares and consumables. Maintain an organized, clean workshop, ensuring tools, parts, and work areas meet health, safety, and food-safe standards.
Customer Liaison & Technical Support
Communicate effectively with customers at all levels, explaining technical issues and repair options. Provide on-site technical assistance for complex installations and commissioning tasks.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
Trade-Related Experience (2–5 years) in Maintenance & Repair, with hands-on exposure to:

Mechanical system overhauls (shaft alignment, bearing replacement)

Electrical controls (PLC, motor starters, variable frequency drives)

PC board testing and repair (advantageous)
Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple repair jobs, and document service histories accurately.
Skills & Competencies

Mechanical & Electrical Expertise: Deep understanding of motors, gearboxes, wiring, and control circuits.

Diagnostics & Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to isolate root causes and implement corrective actions.

Communication & Teamwork: Ability to liaise with customers, suppliers, and colleagues, ensuring clear and professional interactions.

Attention to Detail & Accountability: Maintain meticulous service records, follow SOPs, and uphold quality standards.

Safety & Compliance: Adhere to PPE requirements, safe-operating procedures, and participate in safety talks and training.

Working Conditions & Benefits

Hours: Monday–Friday 08:00–17:00, Saturday 08:00–13:00

Environment: Indoor workshop with moderate noise; occasional on-site travel for installations and repairs
