Qualification Requirements

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

• Matric (Grade 12)

• Valid Code B Driving License

Experience Requirements

Ideal applicants should meet the following experience criteria:

• 3 to 5 years of experience working in a Workshop or Engineering environment

• Strong knowledge and practical understanding of stock management processes

• Exposure to working in maintenance or technical support teams is advantageous

Key Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes

Candidates must demonstrate the following competencies to succeed in this role:

• Knowledge of Food Safety standards and safe working practices

• Sound interpersonal and communication skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced skills in Excel

• Familiarity with C-Works system is an added advantage

• Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills

• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

• Excellent problem-solving skills and numerical ability

• Ability to manage stock rotation, prevent redundant stock, and eliminate stock losses

• Capacity to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

• Understanding of housekeeping and safety standards in a maintenance store

Key Responsibilities

The Maintenance Storeman will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of maintenance-related stock, tools, and equipment. Your duties will include:

• Ordering and receiving goods in line with maintenance department requirements

• Ensuring all materials and equipment are available as per operational needs

• Maintaining optimal stock levels in accordance with company specifications

• Eliminating stock losses, shrinkage, and preventing redundant or obsolete stock

• Responsible for the issuing of spares, tools, and equipment to maintenance teams

• Keeping accurate stock control records as per company standards

• Housekeeping and maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the maintenance store

• Conducting weekly and month-end stock takes

• Managing min and max stock levels to ensure operational readiness

• Monitoring critical spares and managing obsolete stock

• Using the E-Code system for inventory tracking

• Ordering stock in coordination with the buyer

• Ensuring quality and service delivery from suppliers and service providers

Additional Requirements

Candidates must be willing and able to meet the following conditions:

• Availability to work excessive hours, including weekends and shifts, when operationally required

• Ability to work in environments with exposure to noise and warm temperatures

• Must have own reliable transport for commuting or travel when necessary
