ROLE OVERVIEW
Wild Coast Sun is seeking dynamic and driven graduates to participate in its Graduate Mentoring and Traineeship Programme within the SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) Department. This opportunity provides real-world experience in a professional environment, empowering graduates to unlock their potential and contribute to organizational change and sustainability goals.
The SHE Graduate Traineeship is a 24-month fixed-term contract that bridges academic knowledge with practical, workplace-based learning. Successful candidates will work under supervision within the SHE Department, supporting procedures that enhance health, safety, environmental responsibility, and excellent guest service at Wild Coast Sun.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate in day-to-day operations within the SHE Department

Follow specified health, safety, and environmental procedures in line with legislative requirements and company standards

Assist in developing and implementing SHE initiatives to improve safety and environmental performance

Engage in activities that promote sustainability and workplace safety culture

Support the SHE team in conducting inspections, audits, and incident reporting
-
Contribute to environmental conservation efforts in line with Sun International’s sustainability commitments

Provide administrative support to the SHE Department, ensuring accurate record-keeping
-
Participate in training sessions, mentoring, and personal development activities designed to build graduate capacity

Interact with staff, contractors, and guests to promote a safe and environmentally conscious environment

Uphold Sun International values of integrity, customer focus, and operational excellence
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
To be considered for this graduate opportunity, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

BSc in Ecology

BSc in Environmental Management
-
BTech Degree in Safety Management
-
National Diploma in Safety Management
-
Valid South African ID document
-
Strong communication skills, both written and spoken English

Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment, including working in a smoking area as required

Demonstrated passion for health, safety, and environmental sustainability

A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic

No prior formal work experience required – this is a graduate mentoring opportunity
