Premier’s Vereeniging Mill is looking for a General Worker Scaler to join our Production department. Our Vereeniging Mill site specializes in the blending, scaling, and packaging of ProMix products, serving both local and national markets. As a General Worker Scaler, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and safety of our production processes.

POSITION OVERVIEW

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote a Safe Working Environment
Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures, company safety rules, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at all times. Your commitment to safety ensures zero shortcuts and a reduced risk of accidents.

Material Retrieval and Preparation
Locate and retrieve ingredients and materials listed on the Recipe List. Assist with lifting, carrying, and moving heavy loads of up to 25 kg safely and efficiently.

Accurate Weighing and Packaging
Weigh multiple ingredients or chemicals to precise specifications, ensuring correct portioning for safe usage. Label, package, and palletize materials by batch, recording weights and supplies accurately and clearly. Regularly check scale performance for reliability and calibrate as needed.

Inventory Monitoring and Reporting
Report stock depletion promptly and maintain neat, accurate records of all materials handled. Transfer materials between designated locations within the Promix department, ensuring the seamless flow of production.

Area Cleanliness and Organization
Maintain clean and organized work areas, perform deep cleaning of equipment as required, and support general housekeeping standards. Participate actively in INVOCOM™ continuous improvement meetings and facilitate the implementation of agreed actions.

COMPREHENSIVE SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Teamwork and Communication
Work seamlessly with production colleagues, maintain open communication channels, and contribute positively to team dynamics.

Physical Fitness and Stamina
Stand for extended periods, work in hot and noisy milling environments, and be prepared for after-hours shifts and overtime when production demands arise.

Attention to Detail and Accountability
Demonstrate high levels of concentration, accuracy, and accountability. Ensure that all records and scale readings are error-free to maintain operational integrity.

Problem-Solving and Adaptability
Identify and report equipment issues quickly, adapt to changing production requirements, and assist in troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

PLANNING, ORGANIZING & TIME MANAGEMENT
Balance multiple tasks, prioritize workload effectively, and meet production targets per shift. Your ability to plan and organize will directly impact throughput and quality.
