ROLE OVERVIEW
Voltex (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Driver Code 10 to join the Richards Bay branch team. The successful candidate will play an essential role in ensuring the efficient and safe delivery and collection of stock to customers in the area. This position reports directly to the Branch Manager.
The role requires more than just driving; it demands responsibility, professionalism, and a commitment to ensuring deliveries are completed accurately, on time, and with a high level of customer service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct daily vehicle inspections and complete inspection sheets to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy

Immediately report any vehicle defects or accidents to the Branch Manager

Plan and navigate delivery routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries

Load stock accurately with the assistance of the dispatch clerk, verifying that items correspond with the delivery note

Obtain client signatures as confirmation of deliveries and maintain accurate delivery documentation

Ensure the delivery vehicle is clean, presentable, and maintained at all times

Monitor vehicle service schedules and notify the Operations Manager when servicing is due

Effectively communicate with customers to resolve delivery-related issues or complaints

Uphold all company safety and security protocols while operating the delivery vehicle

Report any delivery challenges or incidents promptly to the Branch Manager

Comply with all traffic laws and company policies while representing Voltex in the community
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Matric or equivalent qualification is mandatory

A valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence is essential

A valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) is essential

Minimum of 3 years of proven driving experience in a similar role

Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning

Knowledge of warehouse processes, stock handling, and basic product knowledge

Understanding of safety standards and proper use of protective clothing

Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset

High level of responsibility, reliability, and professionalism
