ROLE OVERVIEW

Voltex (Pty) Ltd is seeking a responsible and reliable Driver Code 08 to join its Cape Town branch team. This position is critical to the efficient delivery and collection of stock to and from customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and the smooth operation of branch logistics.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Branch Manager and will be expected to manage deliveries professionally, uphold safety standards, and represent the company positively while interacting with customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete vehicle inspection sheets daily and ensure the delivery vehicle is roadworthy

• Report any vehicle defects, damages, or accidents to the Branch Manager immediately

• Plan and navigate delivery routes to ensure timely, efficient trips

• Load stock according to the log sheet with assistance from the dispatch clerk, ensuring accuracy against delivery notes

• Obtain client signatures as confirmation of goods delivered

• Accurately complete and submit all delivery-related administration and reports

• Maintain effective communication with customers to resolve complaints or queries

• Keep the delivery vehicle clean, presentable, and properly maintained

• Keep records and notify the Operations Manager when vehicle servicing is due

• Report any delivery-related issues or incidents promptly to management

• Adhere to all safety and security protocols while operating the vehicle

• Represent Voltex in a professional, customer-oriented manner at all times

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate is mandatory

• A valid Code 08 Driver’s Licence is essential

• Minimum of 3 years’ proven driving experience in a similar role

• Familiarity with GPS navigation devices and route planning

• Understanding of warehouse processes and stock handling procedures

• Knowledge of safety standards and proper use of protective clothing

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• High level of responsibility, attention to detail, and reliability

• Ability to work independently and under pressure
