ROLE OVERVIEW
Voltex (Pty) Ltd is looking for a skilled and reliable Cable Cutter to join their Cape Town branch team. The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting cables, wire, and suffix materials accurately according to customer specifications. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong knowledge of electrical products, and strict adherence to safety standards.
The position reports directly to the Branch Manager and is a key function within the warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accurately cut cables, wire, and suffix materials according to customer requirements for size and length

Attach correct labels to all cut cables, specifying size, length, and customer details

Record all cable cuts in the cable control book or on the relevant documentation

Monitor stock levels of cables and inform management of stock availability or shortages

Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area, ensuring floors are free from hazards

Operate forklift machinery for loading, unloading, and transporting materials as required

Assist with pre-counting and cycle counting of cable stock for inventory and scanning purposes

Support the Warehouse Supervisor with additional duties as required to ensure operational efficiency

Adhere to all safety protocols and correct use of protective clothing and equipment

Ensure proper handling and storage of cable materials to prevent damage

Maintain compliance with all company policies and health and safety regulations
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Matric / Grade 12 certificate is mandatory

Valid forklift licence is essential

Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with cables and wire is required

Strong knowledge of electrical products, cables, and related materials is essential

Familiarity with warehouse processes and stock handling procedures

Understanding of safety standards and proper use of protective equipment

High level of attention to detail and accuracy in measuring and cutting materials

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks such as lifting and moving cable stock

Good organisational and communication skills
