The Riverhorse Branch in Durban is looking for a detail-driven and reliable Inventory Controller to join the Operations team. If you have experience in inventory management, a mechanical understanding of vehicles, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this opportunity is ideal for you.
Role Overview
The Inventory Controller will play a vital role in managing vehicle stock, ensuring system accuracy, and overseeing effective stock control processes. The position requires regular travel between Pietermaritzburg and Riverhorse, making flexibility and commitment essential. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and experienced in inventory management within the motor industry.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase Orders Management

Open, approve, and close purchase orders efficiently

Ensure strict adherence to administrative order processes

Handle reversals and corrections accurately

Provide support for the purchase order system

Extract and process relevant data for effective stock management

Follow up daily on open orders
Stock Management and Control
-
Extract and analyze stock data for reporting purposes
-
Monitor stock take exceptions and compile reports
-
Troubleshoot stock discrepancies and provide system support

Oversee stock levels on the showroom floor

Manage the Trello Board, adding and removing vehicles as needed
Housekeeping and Expense Management

Maintain manual order books
-
Order promotional, sold, finance, QC, and delivery-ready stickers

Arrange payment requisitions for service providers

Ensure operational expenses are controlled and optimized
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
-
Grade 12 (Matric)
-
Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience in inventory management
-
Technical/mechanical background (advantageous)

Previous motor industry experience preferred
Required Competencies and Skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Solid understanding of vehicle mechanics is beneficial
