Role Overview

The position of Finance & Insurance Manager at Kia Somerset West is critical to the success of the dealership’s sales and finance operations. The role is responsible for providing vehicle finance and insurance services to clients while ensuring compliance with industry regulations such as FAIS, FICA, NCA, and others.

As a Finance & Insurance Manager, your duties will include supporting customers with financial product solutions, maximizing second gross profit through the sale of approved value-added products, managing the finance book, and ensuring the dealership operates within the required legal and compliance frameworks. This role is ideal for a candidate with a solid background in automotive finance or banking who thrives in high-volume environments.

Key Responsibilities

Meet and exceed budget and finance sales targets in a high-volume dealership setting
Promote the sale of approved value-added insurance and financial products to maximize gross profit
Conduct professional financial needs analyses for clients to recommend appropriate finance options
Manage and maintain the finance and insurance debtor’s book efficiently
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (NCA, CRA, FAIS, FICA)
Provide accurate transactional reports and documentation to dealership management
Support dealership growth through financial consulting and customer education
Maintain high standards of customer service and relationship management
Offer expert advice on credit, insurance, and motor retail finance
Monitor legislative and industry changes to ensure ongoing compliance and knowledge development

Qualifications and Experience

Matric / Grade 12 is essential
Relevant Diploma or Tertiary Qualification in Finance, Credit Management, or related field
Regulatory Exam qualification (RE5)
NC Accreditation and minimum of 120 credits in Retail or Short-Term Insurance
Registered with an accredited Financial Services Provider (FSP) and able to perform NCA functions
3+ years of experience in a similar finance and insurance role in automotive retail or banking
Up-to-date CPD points according to FAIS guidelines
Valid South African driver’s license

Skills and Personal Attributes

Knowledge of dealership policies, finance practices, and vehicle legislation
Excellent customer service and negotiation skills
Understanding of automotive retail compliance and governance
Strong sales ability with a proven track record in achieving finance targets
Detail-oriented with excellent reporting and administrative skills
Sound understanding of the financial services regulatory environment
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to manage customer relationships
Comfortable working in a high-performance, target-driven dealership
