Position Overview
The Finance & Insurance Manager will be based at Kia Cape Town, and will serve as the central point for vehicle finance, insurance sales, and compliance functions. This role demands a highly skilled individual with experience in automotive finance or banking to support vehicle sales operations and maximize profitability while ensuring compliance with industry standards including FAIS, NCA, CRA, and FICA regulations.
This is a strategic and operational role where success is measured by meeting sales targets, regulatory compliance, client service delivery, and effective debtors book management. The position also requires engaging with clients on finance needs analysis, ensuring customers are offered the most suitable financial solutions and products.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver against dealership sales and second gross profit targets
Conduct professional financial needs analysis with each client
Sell approved value-added products (insurance, warranties, service plans)
Ensure the dealership remains compliant with NCA, FAIS, CRA, FICA, and FSB regulations
Maintain and manage the finance and insurance debtor’s book
Ensure all vehicle sales finance documentation is recorded and submitted accurately
Promote financial products and services to expand the customer base and revenue
Support dealership staff in finance-related procedures and educate customers on financial products
Provide timely and accurate reporting to support financial decision-making
Stay updated on vehicle finance compliance frameworks and internal dealership governance
Minimum Requirements
Matric / Grade 12 qualification
Relevant diploma or tertiary education (Credit Management or Financial Services preferred)
Regulatory Exam (RE5) certified
Retail or Short-Term Insurance Qualification with at least 120 credits
Registered with an accredited Financial Services Provider (FSP) with NCA function mandate
Current Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points as per regulatory standards
Valid South African driver’s license
Clear criminal and credit records
Experience
Minimum of 3 years in a Finance & Insurance Manager role or related function
Background in the automotive retail sector or banking/finance industry
Strong understanding of dealership processes, vehicle legislation, and customer finance
Track record of achieving performance and profitability targets
Expertise in client consultation, compliance management, and product sales
Skills and Competencies
Comprehensive knowledge of NCA, CRA, FAIS, FICA regulations
Strong administrative and reporting capabilities
Ability to work under pressure and deliver consistent financial outcomes
Client-facing professionalism with advanced communication skills
Detail-focused with a proactive attitude
Understanding of automotive compliance and dealership best practices
Sales acumen with the ability to close finance and insurance deals
Ability to work within a target-driven, fast-paced dealership environment
