Role Overview
The Finance & Insurance Manager position is a key strategic role responsible for overseeing the dealership’s vehicle financing operations and related insurance product sales. Based at the Hyundai Digital Dealer in Johannesburg, the successful candidate will provide tailored financial and insurance solutions to customers, ensure compliance with industry legislation, and support the dealership in achieving financial performance targets.
The primary goal of this role is to maximize gross profit through the sale of value-added finance and insurance products, while providing an efficient and ethical service aligned with Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) guidelines. This role also involves managing credit applications, debtor portfolios, and maintaining dealership compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct financial needs analyses to recommend suitable finance and insurance options to clients
Promote and sell approved value-added products to increase second gross profit
Support the dealership in reaching agreed sales and financial targets
Ensure full compliance with financial legislation including NCA, CRA, FAIS, and FICA
Manage the finance and insurance debtor book and associated administrative processes
Provide accurate documentation, recording, and reporting to support informed decision-making
Educate clients on financial products and maintain long-term customer relationships
Ensure dealership staff and management remain aligned with financial compliance standards
Provide customer service excellence through ethical and efficient finance processes
Remain up to date on vehicle legislation, governance policies, and financial services practices
Minimum Requirements
Matric / Grade 12
Relevant diploma or tertiary qualification (Credit Management or Financial Services related fields preferred)
Regulatory Exam qualification, Retail or Short-Term Insurance certification (minimum 120 credits)
Accredited by the Financial Services Provider (FSP) and mandated to perform NCA functions
Current Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points as required
Valid South African driver’s license
Clear criminal and credit records
Experience and Knowledge
At least 3 years of experience in a similar role within the automotive retail or banking environment
Proven track record in financial sales, administration, and customer service
In-depth understanding of the compliance frameworks governing finance in the retail sector
Sound knowledge of second gross profit calculations and finance sales targets
Experience with dealership systems and financial product platforms
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
Ability to analyze financial data and make informed recommendations
