MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric)

• Training: Successful completion of Corrections Science Learnership / Basic Training

• Experience:

  • 8 years relevant experience for officials performing above average on CB 1-2 OR

  • 10 years relevant experience for officials performing at average level on CB 1-2

• Driver’s Licence: Valid

• Computer Literacy: Required

• Strong understanding of plant production and agricultural processes

• Working knowledge of Correctional Services Act 111 of 1998

• In-depth understanding of security operations in a correctional environment

• Skills in project management, change management, and stakeholder relations

• High integrity, confidentiality, interpersonal skills, and assertiveness

• Capable of problem-solving, decision-making, and people management

• Innovative thinking and ability to promote rehabilitation through agriculture

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement and monitor plant production projects aligned with agricultural service standards

• Ensure quality rehabilitation of inmates through involvement in plant production activities

• Manage all aspects of agricultural labour, equipment, and environmental safety

• Adhere to relevant policies, procedures, and safety regulations

• Ensure self-sufficiency and sustainability through productive use of correctional facility land

• Supervise human resource, financial, and asset administration linked to agriculture
