ROLE OVERVIEW
Are you an experienced sales professional with a passion for the building materials industry? BUCO Pinetown is seeking a motivated and target-driven External Sales Representative to drive business growth, engage with customers, and represent the BUCO brand in the field. This position plays a crucial role in generating new leads, converting opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
As the face of BUCO in the external market, you’ll serve as the critical link between the store and the customer — ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction across your portfolio.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct structured cold calling and customer visits to increase the company’s customer base and generate new business leads.

Positively represent the BUCO brand in the marketplace to promote long-term customer loyalty.

Meet or exceed monthly sales targets and budgets set by management.

Follow up on quotations and orders to ensure timely delivery and prevent delays.

Efficiently manage customer queries and resolve issues related to orders, stock, and invoicing.

Handle administrative tasks related to external sales, including reporting and customer documentation.

Offer sound advice and recommend suitable products or alternatives based on client needs.

Collaborate closely with internal teams to align sales efforts with store inventory and promotions.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

Matric/Grade 12 is essential.

A minimum of 5 years’ external sales experience, preferably in the building materials or construction industry.

Strong communication and negotiation skills with a customer-centric mindset.

Proven ability to work independently in the field and manage a dynamic customer base.

Basic computer literacy to process orders, quotations, and sales reports.

A valid South African driver’s license is required.

Knowledge of the Pinetown area and surrounding building contractors will be advantageous.
