ROLE OVERVIEW
BUCO Hermanus is currently looking for a General Assistant: Cleaner/Tea to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a crucial support role responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for staff, customers, and visitors. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a General Assistant: Cleaner/Tea, your responsibilities will include:

Serving tea, coffee, and refreshments to staff, customers, and visitors as required

Performing general cleaning and housekeeping duties to ensure the store and office areas are always neat and hygienic

Maintaining clean restrooms, kitchens, and common areas daily
-
Replenishing refreshments such as tea, coffee, sugar, milk, and cups
-
Managing mail and basic postage tasks, including sorting and distributing documents
-
Ensuring the workspace reflects the company’s commitment to cleanliness, organisation, and professional image

Practising excellent customer service, treating all stakeholders with courtesy and respect

Assisting with ad hoc duties in line with retail support and operational needs

Upholding and promoting The Building Company’s values and culture
REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

Grade 12 / Matric certificate

At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role (cleaning, hospitality support, or customer-facing service)

Professional personal presentation and good hygiene standards

Ability to multitask and manage responsibilities without constant supervision

Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality

Good interpersonal and communication skills
