ROLE OVERVIEW
BUCO Tokai is seeking a dependable General Assistant to support daily operational activities. This role is vital to ensuring smooth business unit functions across multiple areas including customer service, stock handling, and workshop support. The General Assistant must be flexible and able to assist in different parts of the business as required, maintaining efficiency and upholding BUCO’s standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist customers and delivery drivers by preparing accurate orders and providing excellent service

Load and offload vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring proper handling of stock

Maintain a neat and organized yard with stock items packed and accessible for easy retrieval

Keep vehicles clean and ensure loading complies with safety standards

Support workshop and joinery functions by providing prompt assistance to customers and suppliers

Accurately perform wash bay duties as required

Maintain store shelves, boards, and other stock in an orderly and customer-friendly manner

Uphold and promote The Building Company’s core values and positive work culture
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Grade 12 / Matric certificate

Basic product knowledge related to building materials or retail hardware is preferred

Ability to work safely and follow company procedures

Good physical stamina for loading and offloading activities

Strong customer service orientation and communication skills
-
Willingness to be flexible and support different business unit functions as needed

Reliable, punctual, and a team player with a positive attitude
