Job Overview
Gert Sibande TVET College is hiring four (4) dedicated Cleaners across multiple campuses. This is a great opportunity for individuals passionate about hygiene, workplace cleanliness, and contributing to a well-maintained academic environment.
Key Responsibilities

Clean offices, corridors, kitchens, elevators, and boardrooms
-
Dust, polish, and wax office furniture
-
Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax floors using appropriate cleaning equipment
-
Shampoo and vacuum carpets regularly
-
Clean windows, walls, and tiles
-
Empty and disinfect waste bins, remove waste and papers, and keep office areas fresh
-
Refill hygiene supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, towels, and air fresheners
-
Clean and sanitize general kitchen and bathroom areas
-
Maintain and safely store cleaning materials and equipment
-
Report any broken cleaning machines or damaged tools (e.g. vacuum cleaner, microwave)
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 10 Certificate (Standard 8)
-
Physical ability to perform manual cleaning tasks and operate equipment
-
Basic understanding of hygiene practices and safe cleaning procedures
-
Willingness to learn and follow instructions
Knowledge and Skills Required
-
Basic knowledge of cleaning materials and chemicals
-
Familiarity with hygiene and safety regulations
-
Good communication (verbal and written)
-
Time management and discipline
-
Ability to operate basic cleaning tools and equipment
-
Teamwork and reliability
-
Awareness of relevant workplace legislation and facilities management policies
