ROLE OVERVIEW

Tsebo is searching for a Specialised Cleaning Manager to lead and coordinate day-to-day operations across specialised cleaning contracts in Gqeberha. This position plays a critical role in maintaining and delivering premium cleaning services that meet and exceed client expectations. The manager will be responsible for managing staff, driving operational efficiency, developing client relationships, supporting business development, and enforcing compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

This role reports to senior divisional leadership and will work closely with internal teams, external clients, and suppliers to ensure services are delivered according to strict service level agreements (SLAs).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations and Service Delivery

  • Maximise resource allocation to ensure high productivity across sites

  • Deliver consistently high service standards through inspections and site audits

  • Drive retention of existing contracts by maintaining exceptional service delivery

  • Plan and execute once-off and ad-hoc cleaning services

  • Manage physical assets including cleaning equipment and company fleet through monthly spot checks

  • Ensure staff are well-presented and uphold the Tsebo brand image

  • Use and maintain company systems and digital tools effectively

  • Train and upskill team members to maintain service excellence

  • Maintain and update unit files and operational records

Client Communication and Reporting

  • Act as the primary liaison for client service needs and feedback

  • Compile and submit reports on inspections, incidents, training, and maintenance

  • Share operational updates and service quality insights with senior management and clients

People and Labour Management

  • Ensure recruitment aligns with Tsebo’s HR procedures

  • Conduct regular performance appraisals and identify training gaps

  • Enforce disciplinary protocols consistently in line with company policy

  • Ensure up-to-date personnel records and that all employees comply with Tsebo’s house rules

Health and Safety

  • Enforce OHS Act compliance and all company-specific safety policies

  • Ensure that all site-specific safety protocols, especially around working at heights, are observed

Financial Management

  • Operate within defined budgets for labour, equipment, consumables, and maintenance

  • Ensure only approved chemicals and suppliers are used

  • Prepare and analyse monthly financial reports and forecasts

  • Justify financial variances and implement timely corrective measures

  • Manage employee leave balances in line with Tsebo policies

  • Ensure all procurement and capital expenses follow company protocol

General Management Duties

  • Implement company-wide initiatives and strategic objectives

  • Collaborate with internal departments including Procurement, HR, and Training

  • Maintain full legal and regulatory compliance

  • Promote cross-selling opportunities across Tsebo divisions

  • Stay current on policy updates and industry trends

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Matric (Grade 12) – minimum

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent deep cleaning experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar environment at middle management level

  • Knowledge of legislation related to cleaning and facilities management

  • Hands-on experience in various specialised cleaning disciplines

  • Demonstrated ability to manage large teams and multiple client portfolios

  • Valid Work at Heights certification – advantageous

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle

  • Ability to work irregular hours and meet monthly operational and financial targets

  • Budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting skills

  • Deep understanding of specialised cleaning practices and asset management

  • Proficient in digital tools used for inspections and operational reporting
