They are currently sourcing qualified professionals for a Talent Pool in the Electrician role at their Johannesburg operations. This opportunity is for experienced trade professionals looking to apply their technical expertise in a professional and regulated environment.
ROLE OVERVIEW
As an Electrician in this division, you will be responsible for daily maintenance, installations, repairs, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment and infrastructure. You will manage tasks aligned with both reactive and planned preventative maintenance, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards governing the electrical trade in South Africa.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance & Installation

Perform scheduled and ad-hoc electrical maintenance and system inspections

Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, circuit breakers, transformers, and switchboards

Troubleshoot faulty systems and equipment; conduct diagnostics and implement corrective actions

Execute proper wiring setups, conduit installations, and testing to ensure safety and functionality

Update the helpdesk and management team with job statuses and findings
Compliance & Safety
-
Ensure full compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and Tsebo policies

Store and handle electrical tools, PPE, and inventory per standard operating procedures

Keep up to date with electrical codes, procedures, and technological developments in the field

Conduct system audits and ensure that all repairs and installations meet electrical standards
Supervision & Administration (If Required)

Supervise junior staff and contractors during installations or repair tasks
-
Monitor and verify proper use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols
-
Complete inspection registers, job cards, and relevant reports accurately and timeously

Support procurement by recommending appropriate parts or products for installations
Stakeholder Interaction

Communicate with clients and team members regarding service requests and job progress

Provide updates to management regarding system failures, project challenges, and key issues

Maintain relationships with suppliers and external contractors to ensure efficient service delivery
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Proficient in using hand and power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment

Knowledge of electrical systems design, testing, and fault analysis

Good planning and time management skills
-
Awareness of environmental, health and safety standards
-
Able to communicate effectively and coordinate with internal teams, clients, and vendors

Attention to detail with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Matric (Grade 12)

Trade Test Certificate or 2-Year Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Wireman’s License (mandatory)

Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in electrical maintenance and installations

Prior supervisory or team-leading experience is an added advantage
