ROLE OVERVIEW

mothers2mothers is looking for six (6) Data Capturers to support a USAID-funded HIV programme in the Mpumalanga Province, specifically across the Ehlanzeni, Nkangala, and Gert Sibande districts. The project targets children living with HIV (CLHIV), from birth to age 20, and their families. The project runs from July 1 to September 15, 2025, and the Data Capturers will play a critical role in supporting the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) function through accurate and timely data entry, reporting, and administrative support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Data Capturing and Management

  • Receive all daily and periodic reporting forms from community sites and accurately capture data into CBIMS and other project databases

  • Log and document form counts and status across all reporting platforms

  • Participate in data analysis and contribute to the preparation of related reports and presentations

  • Assist with the implementation and use of paper-based and electronic data tools

2. Data Quality Assurance

  • Perform complete and accurate data entry, ensuring 100% consistency

  • Follow up on missing or incorrect data, applying quality control procedures

  • Run data quality checks and conduct random data audits

  • Perform first-level data cleaning before entry and escalate discrepancies to the Data Quality Assistant

  • Maintain clear documentation of data audits and records

3. Training and Development

  • Identify data-related trends indicating the training needs of Family Mentors

  • Document key development areas and escalate where needed for performance improvement

4. Administrative Support

  • Maintain an organized and secure filing system for M&E documentation

  • Support the programme team with general administrative tasks and duties as assigned

  • Assist with field preparation tasks such as tool packaging and coordination

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Matric (Grade 12) is required

  • At least 1 year of experience in data capturing

  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Exposure to statistical software such as MS Access or Excel

  • Strong filing and administrative capabilities

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in English and at least one other South African official language

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines

  • Sound judgment and ability to handle pressure

  • A proactive, organised, and results-driven mindset
