ROLE OVERVIEW
The Operations Shipping Clerk plays a critical role in the supply chain by managing the coordination and execution of shipping operations, including imports, exports, and local freight processes. This role is based in Cape Town and forms part of a dynamic team responsible for ensuring smooth and compliant shipping operations.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage documentation and transactions efficiently, and strong communication skills to liaise with stakeholders across the logistics process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate export, import, airfreight, and local shipment documentation

Arrange couriers and transport logistics in alignment with operational timelines

Perform acquittals of rebated material and ensure customs compliance

Manage filing systems and maintain accurate shipping records

Capture invoices and perform month-end stock count reconciliations

Liaise with factory supervisors, customers, suppliers, and transporters to maintain supply chain flow

Provide general administrative and operational support to the Operations and Procurement departments
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
-
Basic computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Strong written and verbal communication skills (fluency in English; bilingualism preferred)

Excellent telephonic and interpersonal skills

Prior experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or supply chain environments is advantageous but not mandatory
