ROLE OVERVIEW
The Machinist role is based at DHL’s manufacturing and logistics operation in Cape Town. In this role, you will assist in the production of Vinliners, handle material movement, and operate in compliance with corporate quality and safety standards. This is a critical hands-on role within the DHL supply chain, offering exposure to logistics operations and advanced manufacturing processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate machinery and assist in the manufacturing of Vinliners

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental protocols

Meet daily and hourly production targets
-
Update and manage production and safety documentation
-
Report any equipment malfunctions to the team leader promptly
-
Assist across departments when required to support workflow
-
Maintain clean and organized workstations in line with company housekeeping standards
-
Comply with all PPE requirements and ensure firefighting equipment is maintained
-
Participate in safety and fire prevention training programs
-
Uphold all company policies and standard operating procedures
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
-
Matric (Grade 12)
-
Technical, Vocational, or Specialized Certification preferred
-
0–2 years of experience in a warehouse or production environment
-
Familiarity with machine operations, health and safety standards
-
Strong attention to detail, work ethic, and teamwork skills
PREFERRED COMPETENCIES

Mechanical aptitude and basic technical troubleshooting

Good documentation skills

Ability to adapt to changing production needs

Effective communication skills

Physically capable of performing manual labor and machine support duties
