ROLE OVERVIEW

The Forklift Operator will be responsible for handling, transporting, and managing packing materials and finished goods within the warehouse and production environment. This includes loading, offloading, and stacking pallets as well as maintaining equipment according to health, safety, and food safety standards. The ideal candidate should be a proactive team player with operational experience in a manufacturing or FMCG setting. Accuracy, attention to safety, and timely execution of tasks are crucial in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate forklifts to transport, load, and offload full pallets of finished goods and packing materials

  • Ensure no product damage occurs during forklift operation

  • Offload finished products from the production line and transport them to appropriate warehouse locations

  • Load pallets into the pallet magazine and supply boards to the layer board machine

  • Prepare finished product for packing in the warehouse, ensuring alignment with standard stacking procedures

  • Carry out daily pre-use checks on forklift equipment, including battery water levels and connection inspections

  • Report any operational or mechanical issues to the maintenance or supervisory team immediately

  • Ensure forklift and charging areas are clean, safe, and organised at all times

  • Follow lawful instructions from supervisors and adhere strictly to company operational and safety standards

  • Ensure all pallets and boards used are in good condition

  • Conduct visual checks on packed pallets before transferring them to the warehouse

  • Adhere to Twizza’s health and safety policies and contribute to a compliant work environment

  • Follow all food safety protocols and escalate food safety issues to the Food Safety Team

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Educational Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 certificate is essential

License and Certifications

  • Valid Forklift Operator License

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in forklift operation

  • Previous experience in a Manufacturing or FMCG production environment will be an advantage

  • Working knowledge of safety and warehouse protocols
