Role Overview
G4S Cash Solutions is seeking a skilled and experienced Tactical Support Unit Officer to join its team in Boksburg. This position is critical for providing high-risk surveillance, vehicle escort, and response support for cash-in-transit (CIT) vehicles operating in vulnerable zones. Reporting to the Regional Security Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting security operations, branch audits, vehicle assessments, and proactive interventions in coordination with intelligence and investigations teams.
This role requires a dedicated professional who is disciplined, detail-oriented, and capable of responding swiftly and decisively to security threats.
Key Responsibilities
High-Risk Surveillance and Escort Operations

Escort CIT vehicles in high-risk areas, often over long distances, such as to Polokwane and beyond

Receive operational instructions from Controllers or Branch Security Officers when limits are exceeded

Act upon intelligence regarding potential attacks or criminal threats involving customers or branches
Site and Route Risk Assessments

Conduct physical risk surveys at client premises
-
Compile and submit detailed reports to the Regional Security Manager

Perform random surveillance at robbery-prone sites and assess vulnerability
Road Checks and Security Compliance
-
Stop and inspect CIT vehicles either en route or at base
-
Evaluate security features such as safes, locks, ID cards, uniforms, and firearm permits
-
Submit compliance reports to the relevant officers
Branch Openings and Closures
-
Supervise and execute opening and closing procedures at branches
-
Inspect the fleet and vaults for operational and security compliance
-
Record findings with supporting evidence in prescribed formats
Investigation and Intelligence Support

React promptly to tip-offs or reports from investigations
-
Assist internal investigators during robbery audits or ATM-related investigations

Perform ATM security audits and follow prescribed procedures
Health and Safety Protocols

Participate in safety briefings, reviews, and monitoring sessions

Comply with company health and safety policies at all times

Wear protective clothing and promote workplace safety standards

Report incidents and follow up on corrective measures
Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Grade 12 / Matric
-
Valid driver’s license
-
PSIRA Grades (Minimum: Grade C)

Cash-In-Transit experience

Auditing course will be advantageous
