Based at the Head Office in Newlands East, KwaZulu-Natal, this Project Manager role offers a unique chance to lead new store builds and revamp initiatives across the group’s restaurant portfolio.
Role Overview
As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end project execution—from initial planning and budgeting through to delivery and handover. You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting Pedros’ expansion strategy by ensuring that all construction, refurbishment, and remodeling projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You’ll be working closely with landlords, franchise partners, internal stakeholders, and suppliers to bring store concepts to life while maintaining the brand’s innovative, modern aesthetic.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and oversee all new store builds and revamps from pre-construction to final handover

Manage project timelines and ensure projects meet deadlines, budgets, and brand specifications

Collaborate with Development, Operations, and Franchise teams for smooth execution

Determine scope of work for store remodels and ensure compliance with architectural and operational requirements

Prepare project schedules, tender packages, and supplier/contractor briefs

Supervise on-site construction activities and assess the quality of workmanship

Ensure all stores are built according to Pedros’ modern and contemporary design standards

Review and approve budgets and feasibility studies for each new project

Conduct regular site visits and report progress to the Head of Development

Secure and manage compliance certificates, occupancy permits, and final snags

Innovate store layouts and aesthetics to align with contemporary QSR and retail trends

Engage and onboard new suppliers and contractors where applicable

Maintain detailed documentation and reporting on all project activities
Qualifications and Experience

Degree or Diploma in Project Management, Building, Quantity Surveying, or a related field

Minimum of 4 years’ project management experience, preferably within QSR (Quick Service Restaurants) or retail development

Experience in managing multiple construction and refurbishment projects across various locations

Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Knowledge of South African building compliance regulations and construction safety standards

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between sites as needed
