Role Overview

As a Griller, you will be responsible for preparing flame-grilled chicken and other menu items according to the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). This hands-on kitchen role demands excellent attention to detail, a strong sense of cleanliness and hygiene, and the ability to work quickly while maintaining food quality.

This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the food and hospitality industry, have a positive attitude, and can thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. You’ll be a key part of the team ensuring that customers receive their meals hot, fresh, and perfectly grilled.

Key Responsibilities

• Grill and prepare chicken and other menu items to perfection, following Pedros’ SOP for consistency and quality

• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards in the kitchen at all times

• Ensure food safety procedures are strictly adhered to, including temperature checks, equipment sanitation, and proper food storage

• Maintain a high-speed service output without compromising food quality

• Assist with cleaning grills, kitchen surfaces, and utensils as part of daily routines

• Work closely with kitchen teammates to ensure smooth operations during busy service hours

• Support front-of-house staff by fulfilling orders quickly and accurately

• Take responsibility for product freshness, portion control, and waste reduction

• Follow stock rotation practices to ensure first-in, first-out (FIFO) is observed

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a fast-food or restaurant kitchen environment

• Strong understanding of grilling techniques and food handling best practices

• Excellent verbal communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members

• Matric / National Senior Certificate

• Able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks

• Must have a friendly and professional attitude with a genuine passion for food
