We are currently seeking a dedicated and organized Despatcher to join our operations team in Kathu, where you’ll be responsible for ensuring smooth transport logistics and optimal scheduling of vehicles and drivers.
Role Overview
The Despatcher will take ownership of all dispatch operations at our Kathu depot. This includes the planning, coordination, and control of daily vehicle movements, ensuring that operations are executed efficiently and within company and legal requirements. This position is integral to maintaining our high standards of service delivery and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and dispatch transport vehicles based on scheduled routes and demand.

Supervise driver activities including briefing, debriefing, loading, and offloading procedures.

Monitor and analyze trip sheets, tachographs, and ensure accurate recordkeeping.

Maintain constant communication with drivers to monitor progress, provide route updates, and resolve any logistical issues that arise.

Conduct accurate and timely load scheduling to meet operational demands.

Perform administrative duties, ensuring that transport documentation is accurately recorded and maintained.

Assist management in executing operational strategies and maintaining daily reporting.

Monitor vehicle utilization and driver performance to improve efficiency.

Maintain compliance with safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
-
Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.

2+ years experience in the transport industry, specifically in a dispatching or operational role.

Working knowledge of transport administration and fleet coordination.

Operational experience in personnel or logistics transport services.
-
Proficient in MS Office and Outlook.
Preferred:
-
Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Transportation Management, or currently studying towards one.

Hands-on exposure to all facets of a transport operation.

Valid Code 14 driver’s license is required.
