Role Overview

A challenging and rewarding Cleaner position is currently available at the Groenkloof National Park Head Office in Pretoria. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, hygienic, and professional environment in all office and common areas. The position reports directly to the Officer: Facilities, and requires a committed individual who can operate under pressure and follow safety protocols at all times.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with basic cleaning experience who is looking to work in a prestigious conservation institution in the administrative heart of South Africa’s national parks system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning of offices, meeting rooms, reception areas, restrooms, passages, and open areas

  • Set up and prepare boardrooms and refreshments for meetings and events

  • Handle and report lost property in accordance with company procedures

  • Empty waste bins and dispose of trash in designated areas safely and responsibly

  • Ensure stock control of cleaning materials and consumables is maintained

  • Replenish consumables such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels

  • Assist with issuing, receiving, and stocktaking of supplies and cleaning products

  • Respond to emergencies and relief schedules as directed by supervisors

  • Maintain high levels of hygiene and safety in line with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations

  • Report any maintenance abnormalities or hazards to be rectified promptly

  • Perform any additional duties as required by supervisors

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate

  • 1 to 2 years’ cleaning experience in a professional environment

  • Experience with stock-taking procedures

  • Knowledge of First Aid and OHS principles

  • Understanding of good hygiene practices

  • Strong timekeeping and punctuality

  • Neat, reliable, and able to work under pressure

  • Willingness to comply with OHS safety standards and regulations
