Role Overview
The Service Advisor Trainee will support the service department by enhancing the customer experience and ensuring smooth service operations. This position requires someone with a keen attention to detail, solid communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. You’ll work directly with customers and technicians to manage bookings, inspect vehicles, and ensure accurate documentation, with a focus on maximizing service sales and maintaining customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities

Apply professional sales techniques to maximize service sales

Ensure secure handling of all cash and transactions

Represent Hyundai professionally and build customer confidence in the brand

Greet customers with courtesy and efficiently record job details
-
Accurately update vehicle history and customer requirements on job cards

Conduct physical inspections of vehicles with customers, noting any visible damage and recording mileage
-
Perform daily customer follow-ups and provide real-time updates on vehicle service progress
-
Ensure verified payment is received before releasing completed jobs

Accurately complete Consumer Protection Act (CPA) documentation
-
Adhere to the company’s quoting and authorization policy before commencing work
-
Confirm payment arrangements and authorization for service/maintenance plans and additional repairs
-
Enforce cash sale policies, including deposits for quotes exceeding R5,000
-
Ensure all repair waiver forms are completed and signed by customers
-
Maintain an up-to-date filing system for job cards and service records
-
Submit warranty job cards to the Warranty Clerk daily
-
Perform daily costing of labour hours and carry-over jobs
-
Communicate and upsell additional service items to customers with proper authorization
Qualifications and Experience

Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
-
1 to 2 years of experience in a similar customer service, sales, or workshop support role is beneficial
