We are currently seeking a vigilant and reliable Security Officer for our Moffet branch in the Eastern Cape.

Role Overview

The Security Officer plays a critical role in protecting Pick n Pay’s customers, staff, and assets by ensuring the enforcement of security protocols and swift response to security-related issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observational skills, and a passion for public safety within a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a professional and visible security presence on the store premises

• Interact with staff and customers in a courteous yet authoritative manner

• Implement and enforce all security policies, emergency protocols, and standard operating procedures

• Identify and report any suspicious activity, security risks, or safety violations

• Maintain close surveillance of customer and employee movements to prevent theft, damage, or any form of misconduct

• Respond appropriately to emergencies, including alarms and safety breaches

• Safeguard company assets and ensure adherence to safety regulations by both employees and customers

• Maintain a high level of awareness and alertness while on duty

• Assist with alarm callouts and liaise with emergency services or external security teams when necessary

• Compile reports and escalate security concerns to management

Minimum Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12

• Security qualification from an accredited institution

• Registered with SIRA/SOB (Grade C minimum requirement)

• Able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays

• Must be contactable at all times for emergency response
