Role Overview
This Management Trainee Programme is tailored for graduates with a passion for safety, health, environmental, risk management, and quality assurance. As a Management Trainee in SHERQ, you will work closely with experienced mentors and functional leaders to gain hands-on experience across multiple operational sites, audit processes, and regulatory frameworks.
The goal of the programme is to create a pipeline of qualified SHERQ leaders who will help RCL Foods maintain and exceed its standards of compliance, sustainability, and employee wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in the implementation and maintenance of SHERQ systems and policies

Participate in audits and inspections to identify health and safety risks or quality issues

Support data analysis and reporting on safety metrics, environmental performance, and compliance

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and logistics operations

Learn to develop and execute training programmes on safety, hygiene, and food quality

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions

Rotate across multiple RCL Foods sites for broader exposure to various SHERQ environments

Engage in structured mentorship, workshops, and personal development plans
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered:

Completed or currently finalizing one of the following qualifications:

BSc in Food Science

BSc in Biotechnology
-
Applied Science in Biotechnology

Strong academic performance in major subjects (2nd and 3rd year)

South African citizen or permanent resident

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

A valid driver’s license is advantageous

Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and interest in regulatory compliance and risk mitigation
