Role Overview
RCL Foods is currently inviting applications for the Management Trainee Programme: Customer based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. This role is ideal for ambitious and analytical graduates who are passionate about marketing, data science, customer engagement, business strategy, or commercial performance. The programme spans 4 to 5 years, offering a deep-dive into the customer-facing side of one of South Africa’s top food manufacturers.
As a Management Trainee in the Customer stream, you will participate in real-world projects and receive mentorship while rotating through various departments and possibly provinces. You’ll be part of a transformative experience designed to grow your understanding of the customer value chain, sharpen your commercial acumen, and prepare you for a leadership role within the company.
Key Responsibilities

Engage in hands-on commercial projects that influence business performance

Analyze customer and market data to identify trends and growth opportunities

Collaborate with teams in marketing, category management, customer operations, and trade marketing

Assist in the development and execution of sales and customer strategies
-
Leverage data science and business intelligence tools to enhance decision-making
-
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
-
Participate in leadership and personal development training modules

Prepare and present insights, reports, and strategic recommendations to senior leaders

Embrace rotation opportunities across provinces to gain holistic business exposure
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements:

Completed or final year of study in one of the following disciplines:
-
BCom / BCom Honours
-
BBusSci / BBusSci Honours
-
BSocSci / BSocSci Honours
(Preferred majors: Marketing, Data Science, Economics, Management, Finance, Accounting)

South African citizen or permanent resident
-
Strong academic performance in 2nd and 3rd-year majors
-
Computer literacy, especially MS Excel and MS Word
-
Valid South African driver’s license is an advantage
Candidates must be highly analytical, results-driven, adaptable, and able to work across functional teams. You must also be open to relocation as part of the rotational requirements of the programme.
