Role Overview
Capitec Bank is seeking a dynamic and driven Account Executive to join its Business Banking team in Sandton. This position is geared toward professionals with a strong background in business banking, relationship management, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will proactively manage and grow a portfolio of business clients by offering tailored financial solutions, improving customer retention, and driving profitability.
Key Responsibilities
As an Account Executive, your core duties will include:

Delivering proactive sales and relationship management for a portfolio of business clients

Identifying client needs and delivering custom financial solutions from Capitec’s range of business banking products

Retaining and expanding relationships with high-value clients by understanding their business operations and financial goals

Preparing and motivating credit applications aligned with the bank’s risk framework
-
Applying advanced customer relationship management (CRM) practices to maintain and grow business client portfolios

Managing cost control, sales forecasting, and client profitability strategies

Conducting client site visits and risk assessments in line with Capitec’s standards
-
Staying informed about industry trends, economic developments, and legislative changes that impact clients
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
-
A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management or Finance
-
At least 5 years of banking experience, with 3 years specifically in Business Banking
-
Demonstrated ability to manage a complex business client portfolio

Experience in credit applications, sales management, and client relationship strategies
Preferred:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Finance

Experience in financial modelling, cash flow analysis, and tax regulations
Knowledge and Skills
Essential Knowledge:

Business economics and economic conditions affecting various industries

Legal structures of business entities and financial compliance frameworks such as FAIS and FICA

Credit evaluation, financial risk assessment, and CRM data interpretation

Capitec product offerings and industry-specific cash flow and credit trends

General banking practices and competitor insights

Detailed understanding of tax legislation as it applies to commercial clients

Familiarity with sector-specific business risks and pricing strategies
