Role Overview

We are looking for a results-oriented and strategic Retail Marketing Coordinator to plan, lead, and implement highly effective marketing campaigns across both digital and physical retail channels. The ideal candidate will combine creative thinking with strong analytical capabilities and bring a solid background in retail marketing, including experience working with FMCG or consumer electronics brands. This role will be responsible for executing multi-channel campaigns, enhancing in-store visibility, driving foot traffic, and converting online audiences into loyal customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns to support retail sales goals, brand positioning, and promotional strategies across all platforms

  • Drive traffic to both online and offline retail outlets through digital marketing initiatives, including SEO, Google Ads (SEM), social media, email campaigns, and paid media

  • Collaborate with creative teams to develop high-impact marketing collateral, including in-store signage, banners, point-of-sale materials, and branded visuals

  • Create and schedule compelling content that aligns with consumer interests and shopping trends across Facebook, Instagram, and other social platforms

  • Analyse marketing performance using Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, and similar analytics tools, offering insights to optimise ROI and engagement metrics

  • Manage the marketing budget efficiently and track campaign-related expenses, ensuring spend is aligned with expected business outcomes

  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., Sales, Product, and Operations) to support consistent brand messaging and timely campaign rollouts

  • Coordinate promotional calendar, campaign activations, and retail launch events at stores across South Africa

  • Stay up to date with market trends, competitor campaigns, and changing consumer behaviours in both brick-and-mortar and e-commerce retail spaces

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field from a recognised university

  • Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience, specifically within a retail environment (FMCG, consumer electronics, or tech industry experience preferred)

  • Proven track record of managing end-to-end marketing campaigns that deliver measurable sales growth and customer engagement

  • Strong technical knowledge of digital tools including SEO, Google Ads, social media platforms, email marketing platforms, and CMS systems

  • Experience working with Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, and business intelligence dashboards like Tableau or Microsoft Power BI

  • Budget management skills and the ability to allocate spend based on performance data and marketing objectives

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask and manage multiple campaigns under tight deadlines

Desired Skills

  • Proficiency in basic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, or similar

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills for tracking performance and managing campaign budgets

  • Data-driven approach to marketing strategy, with the ability to interpret performance reports and pivot campaigns based on insights

  • Understanding of consumer behaviour across online and offline shopping experiences

  • Strong stakeholder management and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and retail partners

Working Environment

This is an office-based role located in Johannesburg with occasional travel to retail stores for campaign rollouts and in-store activations. You’ll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where innovation and quick decision-making are key to success. The role demands flexibility, creativity, and an agile mindset as you’ll be managing multiple campaigns and platforms simultaneously.
