Role Overview
The Driver position is an essential part of the logistics and distribution chain. You will be tasked with transporting goods between different locations, maintaining proper documentation for all trips, and ensuring that all health and safety standards are followed. This role requires someone who is not only capable of driving heavy-duty vehicles but also someone who can uphold the company’s high standards of vehicle maintenance, cargo handling, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities

Transporting goods and materials safely between specified destinations

Picking up and delivering items to and from local businesses

Ensuring that delivery documents, invoices, and trip logs are accurately completed

Operating heavy-duty trucks and mechanical equipment in a safe and professional manner

Conducting daily vehicle checks and ensuring vehicles are maintained in good working order

Reporting any vehicle maintenance needs or damages to the fleet supervisor

Keeping the cargo secured according to safety regulations to prevent losses or damage

Completing all vehicle inspection registers and safety forms as required
-
Occasionally standing in for other drivers based on operational requirements

Performing general tasks related to logistics and supporting warehouse functions as needed
Job Requirements

National Senior Certificate (NQF4) or an equivalent qualification
-
A valid Code EC driver’s license with Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
-
A minimum of 2 years’ proven driving experience in a logistics or transport role

Ability to lift and handle heavy items up to 50kg
-
Effective verbal and written communication skills for reporting and client interactions
-
Excellent conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities on the road and in client-facing scenarios
-
Demonstrated customer service skills, particularly in time-sensitive delivery situations

Strong knowledge of local routes in and around George and the Western Cape
