Role Overview

The Driver will be tasked with transporting goods and materials between various sites, ensuring safe delivery practices, and providing support to the logistics operation. You will be responsible for completing the necessary documentation, maintaining vehicle condition, and adhering to transport safety regulations. The ideal candidate should be able to handle physical demands of the job and demonstrate initiative, reliability, and strong time-management.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport materials and products to and from specified destinations

• Deliver and collect goods from local suppliers and businesses within schedule

• Accurately complete and verify documentation related to each trip

• Operate trucks in accordance with road safety laws and company standards

• Secure all cargo in a safe and compliant manner before departure

• Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the delivery vehicle

• Perform daily vehicle inspections and submit checklists or registers

• Safely operate mechanical equipment as needed during deliveries or loading

• Step in for other drivers when required to ensure delivery continuity

• Execute any other logistics-related duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification

• Valid Code EC (heavy-duty) driver’s license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)

• Proven track record as a professional driver with safe driving practices

• Strong understanding of road safety protocols and transport regulations

• Physical ability to lift loads up to 50kg

• Good problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Customer service experience will be a distinct advantage

• Must be punctual, reliable, and well-organized
