Role Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated and energetic Shop Assistant to join our store in Northgate, Johannesburg. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
The ideal candidate will be someone who takes pride in maintaining store standards, delivering excellent service, and supporting a high-performing team. Key Responsibilities

Receive, off-load, and unpack incoming stock

Accurately arrange items in fridges, freezers, shelves, and designated store areas

Perform cashier duties including operating the till, handling transactions, and assisting customers

Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of the store, fridges, and stockrooms

Support daily and weekly stock counts and help maintain inventory accuracy

Follow housekeeping and health & safety standards at all times

Provide outstanding customer service and support customer needs in a helpful, friendly manner

Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with colleagues and supervisors
Qualifications and Experience

Matric/Grade 12 certificate is essential

Prior experience in a retail or FMCG environment will be an advantage

Must be able to communicate fluently in English, both spoken and written

Strong numeracy skills and comfort with basic cashier responsibilities

Physically fit to handle manual tasks such as unpacking and arranging stock
